I donated pens, pencils and whiteboard markers to Otahuhu Intermediate School, a Year 7 - 8 decile one school. I was fortunate enough to meet with the lovely principal and support staff including the lady who manages the stationery shop at the school. They explained to me that they require the families to pay for a stationery pack at the start of the year but the staff explained to me that the stationery often gets used up before the end of the year so they would really appreciate pens and pencils. They also told me that teachers go through a lot of whiteboard markers so this donation of 768 whiteboard markers should hopefully help them with their teaching in the classroom. I was also kindly invited back to the school to share my journey with their students as they are currently delving into the big question of leadership and participation within/by organisations. I would just like to mention that for each of my donations to schools I ask the school what stationery they require and I also look at the ages of the students and the school roll to ensure that the donation is specific to the needs of the school in order to maximise the benefit of the stationery for the receiving school. Emily. Today I donated exercise books, whiteboard markers, pens, pencils and erasers to Otahuhu College. This is a decile one high school with a roll of over 900 students. This stationery will be well utilised by the high school students who don't have these necessary supplies. The majority of the stationery donated came from Regal Office Supplies, so thank you! Emily.Today I donated pens, pencils, colouring pencils, erasers, sharpeners, glue sticks and whiteboard markers to Mountain View School. Thank you especially to the family who gave a monetary donation which contributed to most of this stationery donation. This stationery will be well utilised by the Year 1 - 6 students of this decile one school as many students come to school without the necessary stationery items and because many of these low decile schools are unable to request donations from families, the responsibility falls back on the teachers to provide the stationery. Emily.I donated English, maths, science and humanities NCEA textbooks, workbooks and study guides to Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Mangere. This is a decile one school from Years 1 - 13 which requested to receive NCEA textbooks. Emily.Today I donated to De La Salle College, a decile one school for boys in Year 9 - 13 with a school roll of approximately 1,000 students. I was fortunate to meet with the principal and deputy principal who were very appreciative of the pencils, pens, highlighters, calculators, cellotape, glue sticks, rulers, ring binders, notebooks and NCEA textbooks donated. Thank you so much to the following donators for supplying the majority of this donation: Regal Office Supplies, Xero, The Print Guys and the monetary donation from a family. Please see the photos below as well as an excerpt from the De La Salle College newsletter. Emily.I donated stationery to Sir Douglas Bader Intermediate School, a small decile one school in Mangere. They were very pleased to receive whiteboard markers, pencils, pens, erasers, glue sticks and ring binders. Emily.Today I donated whiteboard markers, exercise books, pens, glue and NCEA textbooks to Kia Aroha College, a decile one school in Clover Park. I was able to meet with the lovely Associate Principal who was very grateful for the stationery supplies. Emily.I would like to say a massive thank you to this lovely family who donated a very generous amount of assorted stationery supplies from their stationery business, Regal Office Supplies, that is closing up. They donated pencils, pens, highlighters, whiteboard markers, correction fluid, calculators, exercise books, binders, clear files and many more stationery and office supplies. Below are two photos of the stationery I received from Regal Office Supplies, I greatly appreciate the kind gesture from the family behind Regal Office Supplies. This stationery will be greatly appreciated and well utilised by students at low decile schools. Emily.Thank you so much to the family who generously donated $110 to Paper Pens Pencils. This donation has been used to purchase exercise books, colouring pencils, erasers, glue sticks, sharpeners and pencils for students at low decile primary schools who come to school without any stationery. This is an amazing and thoughtful gesture and will be greatly appreciated by the students who receive this stationery. Emily. |
