Today I went to Mangere College to donate nine boxes of stationery and NCEA textbooks. I met with the dean and teacher of DVC, Neville Padavatan, who was very appreciative of the stationery. He informed me that by the time some parents have paid for rent, electricity and food, there is no money left for stationery supplies for the children so they have to borrow the teacher's pens. This stationery will be very helpful as the teachers put together stationery packs for the kids who don't have any. Thank you to the following donators: North Shore Hospital, Staedtler, My Mojo and Croxley. Thanks Lucy for volunteering your time today to come to Mangere and for helping me collect the NCEA textbooks which were donated to Mangere College. Happy World Stationery Day! Emily.
Today I donated whiteboard markers, rulers, pens, envelopes, folders, Blu-tak, exercise books, refill and coloured paper to Birdwood School. I met with the Principal, Jenny Bernard, who was very grateful of the stationery. She told me that some parents have to get a subsidy from the government to buy the stationery for school, however, they have to pay this subsidy back. Emily.
I was overwhelmed at the generosity of North Shore Hospital when I received 33 boxes full of ring binders. If you are a school in need of folders, please get in touch. A special thank you to Barbara for all her help with contacting me and delivering the folders herself! Emily. |
